Activity
Therapy

The Activity Therapy
Service is supervised by the Coordinator of Activity
Therapy and is a treatment component of the service
delivery system. It offers services which are designed to:
1) Aid the client's
stabilization process;
2) Aid in helping
impaired individuals to improve their functioning level;
3) Help facilitate the
client's return to the community; and
4) Help the client see
his life as more meaningful and enjoyable.
The activity therapy
assessment is an attempt to assess the client's interest
level, aptitude for activities, functioning level, and
leisure history. The Activity Therapy staff is responsible
for incorporating the client's activity therapies into the
individualized treatment plan. They are also responsible
for continuously updating unit staff about the client's
behaviors and progress.
